After a noticeable absence The Clarets Trust have brought back the Beer Festival. The event which is backed by the East Lancs CAMRA will be held at the newly re-furbished Moorhouses Brewery Visitors Centre on Accrington Road in Burnley, on the 6th,7th and 8th May.
5th Burnley Beer Festival DATES
When the event was published a couple of months ago, The Clarets Trust and its partners including Martin Barnes editor and chief of the only Burnley Football Club Fanzine "When The Ball Moves", Martin who organised the 1992 Champions dinner a few years back, including a five aside game where Super Johnny Francis, Mark Monnington, Roger Eli, Paul Weller, Graham Lancashire and Andrew Farrell gave their time and sweat too. Martin asked for sponsors back in February and the posters of The Longside did just that by sponsoring a barrel of Hen Harrier. Along with the Trust members, fans of the Clarets and fans of the Beers, in attendance there will be various members of Burnleys famous past with footballers who have famously worn the Claret and Blue also sampling the brews on show. So if its jut a warm up for the last game of the season against Cardiff City (remember this is a 12.45 kick off) so there will not be much time for an ale before the game, or for a post match pint or four to celebrate a season of so much promise, which to be fair didn't deliver! or even for a Sunday afternoon session, then visit the Festival all will be welcome.
