Congratulations Go To Owen Coyle

Burnley's manager Owen Coyle was today presented with the Championship Manager Of The Month award for September. His award came as a direct result of The Clarets greatly improved performances throughout the month of September. Burnley won four and drew one making them the highest points scoring team in the Championship.

Owen had to fight off competition for the award from Mick McCarthy, Paul Sturrock and Steve Coppell. The last time a Burnley manager won the award was in October 2006 when Steve Cotterill won it, and we all know what happened after that.

Not being the superstitious kind, I do not believe in all these "kiss of death" statements, it is an award that was well deserved by Owen and his team for their massive improvement over the August performances. Long may it continue.

At the initial stageI had given up .I never hesitated to use the stick . I am glad that he proved me that I was wrong and that he is a manager who has the extra force to make the club moving at the right path

Well said Dave, I hadn't totally given up on him but I was certainly getting very worried. Anyway he's proved capable of turning the situation round in the short-term, if he can carry it on we could be going places.(Sm13)
