David Unsworth Signs One Year Deal

Former England international, David Unsworth, has joined the Clarets on a free in a one year deal. The 33-year old defender who is the Clarets fifth summer signing will wear number 26 for Burnley. He has spent most of his career in the North West at Everton and more recently at Wigan but now makes the return to his native Lancashire to play for Burnley.

The Chorley born defender was rumoured to be joining the Clarets following pre-match chatter in the pubs around the ground before the game, only to be confirmed after the match in Steve Cotterill's post-match press conference.

His name wasn't the only one mentioned and while those names probably won't feature in tomorrow's League Cup game at Grimsby, David Unsworth may well do following Caldwell leaving the game injured after only 30 minutes with a hamstring problem.

If rumours are to be believed there is one more player to be signed and it could be another player who has recently worn the claret and blue colours of Burnley, one could have mistaken the band outside "The Lounge" as being part of his welcome.
