Polish Rumour: Saganowski Linked

The Clarets have been linked with Polish striker Marek Saganowski who is currently on loan at Southampton. The Mirror are reporting that we have put forward a Ł1 Million bid and Sky Sports News have picked up on this and are also carrying the story..

POLISH RUMOUR

The Clarets have been linked in the Daily Mirror with Polish striker, Marek Saganowski.

Marek Saganowski

A reported £1 Million bid has gone in for the 29 year old who is currently at loan at Southampton from French Ligue 2 club Troyes AC.

Despite a car crash which left him unable to walk in 1998, he has notched up 99 goals in his career. 10 of those in his loan spell at Southampton.

He has played mainly in the Polish leagues with a brief spell in Portugal before his move to France last year. He has also had brief loan spells at Feyenoord and Hamburg.

His time at Southampton has seen him score a hat-trick and feature in both of their play-off semi final games. He failed to score as Saints went out in a penalty shoot-out against Derby who last weekend went on to gain promotion to the Premiership.

He has 15 caps for the Polish side scoring three goals. Two of those against Azerbaijan in Polands 8-0 thrashing during the 2006 World Cup qualifiers.

With Sky Sports News picking up on the story is it likely we'll sign the striker given Southampton are reportedly struggling to find the money to sign the Pole?

On SSN this morning we've bid a million for him, source is the daily mirror.

Let's not forget it was the national press that first mentioned Kiraly 6/7 weeks ago.

What a signing he'd be.

I never saw him play, striker is he?

Again, im not big on imports, BUT, when theyve had a spell here, and done OK, im fine with it...less of a gamble...

Whats type of player is he (if he is a forward as I guess?).

One who can control a ball - and that's a step in the right direction.

Exciting news if its true. Certainly shows we mean business.
I still cant get my head round why these calibre of players would want to come to "little old Burnley" - then again, i would have said the same about Kiraly, so who knows eh ?

Money makes the world go around,
the world go around, the world go around,
Money makes the world go around,
it makes the world go round.

A mark, a yen, a buck or a pound,
a buck or a pound, a buck or a pound,
Is all that makes the world go around,
that clinking clanking sound,
Can make the world go round.

If you happen to be rich, and you feel like a night's entertainment,
You can pay for a gay escapade.
If you happen to be rich, and alone and you need a companion,
You can ring ting-a-ling for the maid.
If you happen to be rich and you find you are left by your lover,
Tho you moan and you groan quite a lot,
You can take it on the chin,
call a cab and begin to recover on your fourteen carat yacht.

Money makes the world go around,
the world go around, the world go around,
Money makes the world go around,
of that we both are sure.
(Raspberry) On being poor.

When you haven't any coal in the stove and you freeze in the winter
And you curse to the wind at your fate.
When you haven't any shoes on your feet and your coat's thin as paper
And you look thirty pounds underweight,
When you go to get a word of advice from the fat little pastor,
he will tell you to love evermore.
But when hunger comes to rap, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, at the window
See how love flies out the door.

For money makes the world go around, the world go around,
the world go around.
Money makes the world go around,
the clinking, clanking sound
of Money, money, money, money,
Money, money, money, money,
Get a little, get a little,
Money, money, money, money,
Mark, a yen, a buck or a pound,
That clinking, clanking clunking sound
is all that makes the world go round,
It makes the world go round.

I bet Cotterill is sat chocking on his cereals after reading:

Burnley want to beat Southampton to the signature of Polish striker Marek Saganowski, who has been on loan at the Saints from Troyes

Seen him live down here last season.

Would be an absolutely superb signing. Alongside Andy Gray he'd be awesome.

Sounds like a decent player.

From Mirror.co.uk - Story here

BURNLEY have made a Ł1million bid for Polish striker Marek Saganowski - to try and beat Southampton to his signature.

Boss Steve Cotterill tabled his offer yesterday to French side Troyes, who sent Saganowski, 28, on loan to the Saints.

But Southampton are struggling to come up with the money for his permanent switch and Burnley have stepped in.

BBoi, you can't want us to sign him - he's an immigrant

Bump.

He's not looking too clever this season is he?

2 goals all season.

Strange, he looked a great player this time last year too.
