The Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo’s Top 50 Football League players are searching for the 2007 Football League Fan of the Year.

The category was a great success in the inaugural Football League Awards which took place in March 2006, and the Awards will once again recognise the commitment of fans, alongside the achievements of the players and clubs.

If you know of a fan who has gone above and beyond the call of duty, you're encouraged to visit www.fourfourtwo.com and put their nomination forward.

Stewart Thomson, Commercial Director of The Football League, said:

“The Football League Awards recognise fans alongside the clubs and players.  We’re looking for fans that really contribute to their club and we would like to encourage anybody who knows someone who deserves this award to nominate them, and give that person the chance to receive the recognition they deserve for their efforts.”

The winning fan will follow in the footsteps of Jeff Hall - the 2006 Fan of the Year – a fanatical Chesterfield FC supporter who demonstrated the important role fans play for their club. Jeff was presented with his award for his dedication to the Spireites over the years.  The 65-year-old has never missed a match since 1958. A loyal servant to the club, Jeff has undertaken many roles at Saltergate, including stewarding and selling programmes. He has even painted the ground and often helps to clean up the dressing room after matches.

The closing date for nominations is 31st January 2007.

The winners of The Football League Awards and FourFourTwo’s Top 50 Football League players will be announced at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House on Sunday 4th March 2007. In total there will 18 awards made on the night, including a range of football awards and industry specific honours.
