Kev Robinson questions Preston North End fans on tomorrow's Lancashire derby at Turf Moor. Are they worried about David Nugent missing through injury, and how do they feel about Billy Davies' departure?

PNE fans speak out

Hi, how are you?

Not bad, got a bit of an upset tummy. Think I ate too many sweets at work this afternoon, but thanks for asking.

Looking forward to Friday?

I am looking forward to my annual trip to the turf, and shall be sat in the cricket field stand as ever.

Will you be heading up to the Turf, or watching it in the pub? On the couch?

I'm not sure yet, there's a few of us watching the game, but not all are PNE fans.

Nugent is missing for you guys, you'll miss him won't you?

Don't worry we have a cunning plan involving beards and wigs. No I don't think so, he's a fantastic player however we have already proved we can win without him.

Gifton Noel-Williams had a horrid first season for us but has been excellent so far this term and is almost like a new signing, the same can be said for Dichio by all accounts- why has he suddenly come into form? Is it the new manager?

Dichio is playing a little further forwards this season, coupled with us delivering more crosses, this means he is in a position to score more, and in the past week he is delivering. Some credit must thus go to Simpson.

Simmo's said to be a better man manager, he's helped Dichio, Paddy and Sedgwick by all accounts. I think it's also the change in our playing style- we're a better attacking side since Simmo came in.

Simon Whaley - bargain of the season?

We signed him last season but I catch your drift. (Kev: I really need to do more research)

Bargain of last season certainly. However, Chilvers on a free is getting better with every game.

In recent season's you've had a poor start and then been fantastic at the end, are you doing it in reverse or is this season your time to shine start to finish?

Too early to tell, points on the board is a big advantage.  I take WBA to win league.

Hopefully we are going to keep it up for the entire season this time- we are realistic though, and know it is going to be tough to stay at the top.

What about Billy Davis, the midget whinger? Be honest, you were gutted when he left!

Nope, glad he left. After his behaviour, there was no turning back for him.

When I heard that Davis was talking to Charlton I was gutted but after what has gone on over the close season good riddance. He took us as far as he could.

Good riddance to the little squirt. It’s quickly beginning to come clear that we underachieved under the Scottish turd.

Last season's Turf Moor clash had a big build up, but the game itself was not the most entertaining 90 minutes ever. Both teams have had significant changes since then, do you expect am enthrilling entertaining goal spree, or a dull 0-0?

It will be a tough game Friday, always is, and in that regard I do not expect 90 minutes of fast flowing football. However, we have the ability to play, and even last year showed the required moments of brilliance, and will be looking to pass it around and through.

Last season's Turf Moor clash is one of the best ever visits I've had. Mr Nugent seriously took the p*** with his volley and Mr Preston North End rounded off a perfect afternoon with a coolly taken penalty. As they say at Deepdale 'That's Entertainment'!

Speculation in the press has linked us with Chris Lucketti, how would you feel if the deal went through? And what about him scoring the winner for us on Friday?

Lucketti was getting past his best at PNE last season, he reads the game well but is slow, I much preferred the Mawene Davis partnership. He may score the winner, that would be typical, but of course he has to sign first.

Lord Lucan popping up at the back stick riding on Shergar has more chance of scoring for you. Chris might look daft, but nobody is that daft.

Some of your fans have been moaning at the lack of tickets that we've given you (despite the fact that we have given no less than PNE requested) but will you sell them all?

Difficult to say whether we can sell all our tickets, Friday night and on telly will affect attendances from both sides I would imagine.

It's on the gogglebox. That will account for some of the fans but I still reckon we will bring more than you brought to our yard last year.

Operation Yellow Fever! Your all bananas are you not?

We have an active fans group, CAST, who work tirelessly on ideas for away games, and Operation Yellow Fever is just another example from an award winning partnership between supporters and the club. I think the atmosphere should be great either way.

We've had our jabs and we know that there are more contagious diseases to be caught in your neck of the woods. How do you explain your Mayor having only three fingers on each hand?

Yes. Yes we are. YEEEEELLOOOOOWS!

So other than Dichio, which players should we be looking out for? (I'm not Steve Cotterill's scout, honest)

Whaley will cause trouble, Sedgwick is a revelation in central midfield, the centre backs are forming a solid partnership and of course there is the ever green Graham Alexander.

Watch out for St. Ledger. He's mates with world famous stars from Emmerdale you know! But you know all about Emmerdale don't you.

Where are your weak spots? Where would you like to see the team improved? (I'm really not).

We lack creativity at times, and can be exposed defensively when teams opt to take the chance on leaving our wingers forward. We have one of the best defensive records and are currently scoring a fair few. The team is generally strong at the moment.

I tend to drink too much!

We've already heard about Simpson, but how about the rest of the backroom staff? How is the fans feeling towards them and the board/chairman?

Simpson came in only to see Billy Davies take all of the backroom staff to Derby in a less than friendly way. He and the board have coped well with replacing the traitors and have the supporters onside as a result of their actions and (most importantly) the teams success.

Dennis Booth has neglected his supermarket chain to look after the lads. Billy Barr is no longer in Viz magazine. The new physio is not a fat t**t, that's all really.

What type of game can we expect you to play?

Sudoku.

Rivalry aside, what’s your honest opinion of the Clarets?

Good to see another northern side doing well, doubts as to whether there is enough strength in depth to keep it going.

You've got 11 very good championship players, you need to keep them all fit and happy for 75 per cent of the season to have a chance at the top six.

What do you think of our manager (Steve Cotterill) and do you particularly rate any of our players?

Cotterill reminds me of Graham Taylor. If he sticks with you long enough I think he'll take you to the Premiership within five years. But he's wanted by so called 'bigger clubs' in this division and is probably as like-minded as the aforementioned Scottish turd.

Steve Cotterill has worked wonders, and has been unlucky that between leaving Cheltenham and joining Burnley he has not been able to show his talents. Against Norwich the Burnley team looked very capable, but I would not like to single out any players.

Cotterill's done very well, but I can see him leaving by the end of the season unless you follow us up. None of your squad scares me, but Kyle Lafferty looks a great prospect.

And finally, can we see a repeat of 2000 with us both going up? That would be fantastic wouldn't it?

It would be great to get all of the old Lancashire derby games in the Premier League, so lets hope for 1. PNE  2. Burnley.

Not this time.

Thanks, and good luck after Saturday!

What’s happening Saturday? (KEV: Damn!)
