Ref Assessor - Plymouth Argyle (A)

The Ref Assessor takes a look at our referee for today's game at Home Park, Plymouth. Pat Miller takes charge of the 5th versus 6th clash, and it is to be his first game officiating the Clarets.

Ref Assessor - Plymouth Argyle (A)

The referee for our trip south to Plymouth is Mr. Miller, but it could be much worse though as on this occasion it is Pat Miller rather than Nigel Miller. Pat Miller has yet to referee the Clarets but he must surely be better than Nigel Miller has been very poor in a number of Burnley matches.

This is Pat Miller's second season officiating football league games and has so far officiated three matches in the Championship. I have yet to see Pat Miller referee a game but a look at the stats would suggest that he is certainly not a card happy referee.

From nine matches this season he has issued just the 17 cautions and the one red card. The red card was to Wolves' Gary Breen for what Miller demeaned to be an elbow in their 4-0 defeat away to Cardiff City.

Pat Miller will be assisted by Mr. Simon Snartt and Mr. Stephen Tomlinson, the 4th official will be Mr. Keith Buller.

Many thanks as always to the Ref Assessor.
