The Pirates have selected a new centre partnership in Zack Wimbush and Harry Yates, whilst Matty Ward gets a starting place on the wing.

In the forwards, Alessandro Heaney starts at loose-head prop, Sol Moody at hooker, and Tomi Agbongbon at No 8.

Replacement prop Billy Young.is expected to make his 50th Pirates appearance.

A few changes from the Ealing fixture in what will be another difficult game against an in form Coventry side on their artificial pitch no doubt in front of a big crowd.
We could really do with getting something from this game ahead of the 2 week break as we're in danger of losing touch with a top 4 finish.
It's worth remembering that this has been a very difficult block of fixtures as after tomorrow's game we will have played all of the current top 5 on consecutive weeks.

I'l be happy if we get anything from this game. Short turn around and Cov a tough place to go.
I guess top six must be our aim, and that's still achievable - maybe even higher if we get a bit more luck on the injury front.

Although we showed great fight once again indiscipline cost us. Two yellow cards and penalties were our undoing. A slow start against a good Cov side also put this game in a hard spot for us. No questioning the lads and their commitment, that was never at fault. You can't help but feel we're good enough for at least a top 6 finish and someone will cop it when we get it right.

Very proud of the effort and commitment shown by the squad after such a short turnaround from the Ealing game at the end of a tough run of fixtures.
Despite falling behind to an in form Coventry side we fought back to get within 3 points but 2 yellow cards and a mounting penalty count led to our undoing.
Hopefully after the 2 week break and the return of a couple of long term injured players we can climb the table to get ourselves back in a play off spot.
There is still a lot of rugby to be played with Coventry, Worcester, Chinnor, and Nottingham still to visit the mennaye.
Happy New Year to the management, players, coaches and backroom staff. Thanks for all your efforts throughout 2025, enjoy your break and here's to a successful 2026.

The two yellows were pretty harsh IMO. Many refs would have just given a penalty. One of the Cov tries was because of a clear obstruction where our player was blocked from making the tackle, sir didn't spot it unfortunately. Just before half time we defended brilliantly with Cov battering our line for multiple phases. We turned the ball over, got down the field only for Buster to be penalised and binned for a high tackle, then Cov scored.
Right at the end of the game we were hammering the Cov line for the try which would have got us the losing BP, got turned over and Cov went the length of the field to score again and make the scoreline very flattering for them.
Having said all that, they are a fine team and have now won six in a row.

Gained a BP which was my prediction we could have hoped. We still have an issue conceding Yellow cards and given penalties away. Refs will be aware of our penalty count and will watch us more for this as opposed the opposition on the day. Two weeks to recuperate and hopefully some classroom talk about conceding the penalty count. Still looking for 6th position at the end at least.

Was a really entertaining game in crappy conditions. Was great to see so many of your fans travel all that way up for it - hope you all had a good journey home and I hope to return the favour and head down to the Mennaye one day.

The return fixture is in early May, so a trip to Kernow in the Spring would be a good time for you to visit.

I’ve just seen the highlights and I agree. For one of Cov’s tries there was clear blocking, and the last one looked like a forward pass. I’m not saying Cov shouldn’t have won, but I do feel that if that had been a Prem match, neither try would have stood.
