Derek McInnes believes the seeding system in the CIS Insurance Cup handed Dundee United the toughest possible tie when it paired them with his former side Morton. Morton are on the up after winning the Third Division title last season and are currently flying high in Division Two - so McInnes believes United will have to be at their best if they are to prevent an upset.

He said: "We'll have to make sure we're at our best, but it's a home tie and after getting a win on Saturday we go into the game full of confidence."

Morton manager McCormack is typically playing down his side's chances of causing an upset when they head to Tannadice.

The Greenock side are in the happy position of going into the game with just one casualty - Stuart MacDonald misses out with an ankle injury. Robbie Henderson returns to the squad following his injury troubles and the manager is delighted at having most players available.

He said: "It's great that it's just Stuart that's injured - not for him obviously - but it gives us a large squad to go there with. Without that you'd be up against it playing SPL opposition."
