Not the worst I've seen

Losing to Orient at home sounds worse than losing away at Southend, but the performance was better. Norwich got beaten by the Shrimpers as well, so that lessened any shame we might have felt by losing at Roots Hall. But anyway, these friendlies are not that important. Still it would be nice to win! These are my ratings: (4-4-2)

GK: Marshall 8 - saved two one on ones, kicking was better and calling was good.

RB: Dunne 6 - gave away a one on one, but good going forward.

CB: Robinson 6 - not showing his best form yet.

CB: Phillips 7 - defended stoutly and passed better than in previous friendlies.

LB: Craig 6 - looked tired.

RM: Igoe 7 - seemed fatigued but managed to ignite some attacks.

CM: Elliott 7 - did the simple things well.

CM: Livermore 7 - passed well and tackled hard.

LM: Simpson 7 - had the beating of his markers.

ST: May 7 - was quite threatening and showed some good touches.

ST: Hayles 6 - not at his best.

subs:

CM: Morris 6 - anonymous.

ST: Peeters 6 - didn't have his shooting boots on.

ST: Hutchinson 7 - showed poise and wanted the ball.

CM: Serioux 6 - was enthusiastic but lost the ball a few times.

LM: Cogan 6 - made a great forward run, but didn't take his one on one chance.
