Arsenal have signed 16-year-old Mexican striker Carlos Vela for 3.5 million euros. The former Guadalajara kid, who was the star and top scorer of the U17 World Cup, will play on loan in Valencia until he is old enough to play professionally in the Premiership.
Even though the kid has stated he didn’t know anything, the deal is said to be done. The two teams reached a quick agreement over the fee and conditions, so a contract offer is expected to be extended and signed very soon.
Vela stated:
“I wasn’t aware of anything, but if it is already done, then great, because I want to leave now.”
About the contract, he said: “I didn’t get any, I haven’t signed anything, but if it’s there, then good for me.”
“I was told there was a chance of joining a Spanish club, but they didn’t tell me which, they didn’t know, it had to be a place in which I could be in the first team, play often, and Valencia would be great because it’s one of the big teams in Spain.”
