Spurs: Tying up the future

Spurs star Ledley King has stated that he has instructed his agent to tie up a new deal with Spurs, while he concentrates on the future, he also refused to rule out a Champions League place following the clubs impressive start to the season: "It's between my agent and the club," stated King.

"I am just letting them get on with it and concentrating on my football. I've always said that if we are going in the right direction, I haven't got a problem.

"The lads have given us an indication of what we are capable of. We have a young squad and we have to keep going.

"The [UEFA] Champions League would be a bonus - you take it one game at a time and see where we can get."

And Spurs will be anxious to avoid a repeat of the move that saw a young Sol Campbell make his way across London to rivals Arsenal, and will want to tie their young star down to a long contract.
