Time for a rest?

He may have played for Manchester United and Spurs in his heyday, but at 39 Teddy Sheringham is still knocking them in for West Ham, but time may be catching up with Teddy at long last with manager Alan Pardew admitting he could be forced to rest Sheringham: "I spoke to Teddy this morning because of all the players in The Premiership he has to be managed better than anybody because of his age.''

"He has been very stiff in the last couple of days and we will have to look at him tomorrow.

"We are certainly not going to risk him. We know he can't play all the games and Teddy acknowledges that.

"It is a case of making sure we get the best out of him. I'm not sure if he isn't actually a different breed to us humans.

''At 39 you would think another year would be like three years for him but he is carrying it well at the minute."
