Liverpool star doubtful for qualifier

Liverpool striker Djibril Cissé is a major doubt for France ahead of their must win game against the Irish at Lansdowne Road on Wednesday. Cissé twisted his ankle in Saturday’s game after scoring in what was a comfortable win for the former world champions. Juventus Defender Lilian Thuram is another doubt ahead of the game, with Monaco defender Sébastien Squillaci on standby, just in case Thuram fails to make it, but coach Raymond Domenech was not giving much away, merely that he will not name squad until the very final moment.
