Spurs’ Tristán Bid Rejected

Deportivo La Coruña have rejected a 6.13 million pounds offer from Tottenham Hotspurs to lure Spanish forward Diego Tristán. Spurs were in search for one box striker, but their late attempt to land the Spanish International was answered with a ‘no’. Deportivo President Lendoiro stated:

“We rejected the offer of a total of €9 million from Tottenham for Diego Tristán, because we believe Diego can recover and we have a lot of trust in him.”

Deportivo have already sold their other star, Albert Luque, to Newcastle and they need Tristán. The player, aged 29, is in a current struggle to regain his past form, since he only scored 8 goals last season. He has been showing signs of recovery past weeks and coach Caparrós wants him to be the regular striker in the lineup.
