A long time have the Herthaner from Berlin looked for a new striker. Short time before the transfer-window closes they got probably a bit nervous and signed serbian international Marko Pantelic on loan from Red Star Belgrad.
"We are happy that we succeeded in signing the topscorer of last season in Serbia-Montenegro. Marko will improve our offensive game with his qualities" said Clubmanager Dieter Hoeness.
The 26 year old had a lot of stations in his career. He allready played for Iraklis Saloniki, Paris St.-Germain, Celta Vigo, Yverdon, Obilic, Sartic and Red Star. That he is said to be a "hiker" didn`t escape the men in charge at Hertha.
"His past is a subject we are dealing with" said Hoeness weeks ago but added now: "he assured me to have been matured".
With a loan-deal has Hertha at least minimized the risk...
