The value of Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt is increasing strongly. Everton saw a £10 million offer rejected by Feyenoord with the Rotterdam outfit reluctant to sell. Toffees boss David Moyes revealed today of Everton's official website that Feyenoord have rejected a £10 million offer.

"We offered £10m for Kuyt on August 1 which was rejected by Feyenoord."

"It is just to make people realise we are in for what we consider to be the top players. We have money to spend if the right ones are available and these names are the right ones.

"But getting them and actually being able to afford them is an issue. As far as I know, you will need to pay 18m Euros for Kuyt and that is beyond what we were willing to do."

Moyes also told the official website that the Liverpool based club has tried to lure Michael Owen to the club.

"We have been in contact with Michael Owen and his advisors.

"Michael doesn't see Everton at this present time as being what he would choose but I am reassuring Everton supporters that we are in for (big) names."

Other clubs who are strongly interested in Dirk Kuyt's services are Martin Jol's Tottenham Hotspur and Champions League winners Liverpool.
