Juventus star to Villa?

Aston Villa are in the running to buy Fabrizio Miccoli from Juventus with Juve transfer supremo Luciano Moggi stating that he will move to either Aston Villa or Benfica in the next few days: "We need to sell a striker, and that would be Miccoli," said Moggi.

"In a couple of day’s time, we will know whether he will go to Benfica or Aston Villa."

Miccoli spent last season on loan with Fiorentina and made some disparaging remarks about Juventus while he was there, so it was always likely that his future lay away from Turin.

But Moggi has done this before, stating a player would go to one place only for him to end off at another, and indeed the Italian press believe there is a third side interested in Miccoli, an as yet unnamed Premiership side.
