Spurs Coach Martin Jol spoke of the day when he found out he had lost his director of football Frank Arnesen to Chelsea saying:
"I guess I felt a little let down by his decision.
"I thought he was happy at Spurs, was committed to the club and enjoying the challenge so I was surprised when he left.
"I was just a couple of hours into my holiday in Spain when I got a call explaining the situation.
"I had to sit in my chair for about two hours to recover. But we have to move on."
But he also had words for the incoming Director of football, whoever that me by, warning that he must be left alone to get on with his job the way he was under Arnesen:
"I respected Frank's position and he respected mine. He never interfered with me or the team. So whoever comes in has to do the same.
