Inter Close in on Figo

By European Football

With Liverpool seemingly out of the race to sign Real Madrid’s Luis Figo, it is looking increasingly likely that he will soon become an Inter Milan player. Spanish daily Marca are today reporting that Inter have become the red hot favourites to land the former world player of the year.

A deal was all but done with Liverpool, when Real unexpectedly demanded 3 million Euro for the player, which prompted Liverpool to back down.

But Massimo Moratti is a long time admirer of Figo’s talents and would love to bring him to the San Siro.

What Figo makes of all this is not clear, he has a long stated desire to play in England, but at this moment in time it appears to be unlikely to be fulfilled.
