Lyon star wants Chelsea move

Lyon midfielder Michael Essien has stated that he wants to leave Lyon and join Chelsea, speaking to French sports daily L'Equipe he stated: "I want to leave."

"I want to play in England at Chelsea."

Lyon have always maintained their desire to hang onto Essien, turning down offer after offer for the player.

But he is adamant that he is leaving, even going so far as to say he will no be joining Lyon in their adventure in the peace cup.
