French move for Spurs star?

Marseille are trying to tempt Spurs striker Fredi Kanoute, to France. He was earlier linked with a possible move to either West Brom or Newcastle United, but Marseille feel confident that they can tempt him to the South of France. Martin Jol turned down an offer of four million pounds, from West Brom a couple of weeks ago. But it is believed that Kanoute, will be allowed to leave, should an offer be made that Jol feels is high enough for the Mali international.
