Real Madrid dismiss Liverpool talk

Real Madrid’s director of football Arrigo Saachi has dismissed Liverpool’s proposed move for Raul. The English papers had linked the Spaniard with a move to Anfield, but Real have stated that no approach has been made. Raul is close friends with Liverpool’s Fernando Morientes and combining this with a recent loss of form, and a loss of place to Michael Owen, there was speculation that he would leave Madrid.

But the fact remains that the person that sells Raul, will be ending his own job, so highly is Raul thought of amongst the fans, it would seem an act of betrayal in their eyes. So it looks like Raul will remain for the foreseeable future a Madrid star.
