Maradona offered road back to football

Argentine and Serie A legend Diego Maradona has been offered a route back into football by Boca Juniors who have offered him the role youth team coach at the club he supported as a child. 'We have decided to offer Maradona the post of sporting director of amateur football,' club president Maurico Macri told a news conference after a board meeting.

'Now it depends on him,' Macri added. 'This has always been his dream and we are happy to make it come true.'

Maradona for my money is the greatest player to have ever kicked a football and his decline has been sad to say the least, but he now appears to have turned a corner making a good recovery after undergoing drug rehabilitation last year and a gastric bypass operation in Colombia last month.

Its also being said that he has lost around 75lb in weight following the stomach stapling operation surgery in the Caribbean city of Cartagena.
