Liverpool star rules out homecoming move Vladimir Smicer has stated that he feels a return to former club Lens is very unlikely, once his Liverpool contract ends. He spent three years at Lens before joining Liverpool, but he simply does not feel that a return there is an option at the moment.

Vladimir Smicer speaking to Lidove Noviny stated:

"I have never said that [I will rejoin Lens]."

“It's a truth I will probably leave The Reds but it's still open to where I will go.”

"I don't have exact offers. Two or three offers are from England and the same number from France. “

"I haven't talked about the names and I don't want to. “

"Yes they [Lens] asked me, I talked with them, that's a truth but a deal? It's a long shot. “

"I don't think it would be the best choice to return to Lens. We won the French league, the French Cup. “

"And people there would expect more from me than I would have been able to fulfil. Perhaps it would be better to start somewhere from scratch."
