Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has hinted that he would like to see Michael Owen back at Anfield. His inability to secure a regular starting place ahead of Raul and Ronaldo, has alerted a host of premiership clubs to his potential availability, including Newcastle and Arsenal.
But despite not being able to secure a starting place he has a good goal scoring record and is a firm favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu.
And times could be changing for Owen as he has been granted a starting place in tonight’s game against Barcelona.
Benitez stated:
"Owen is a Liverpool supporter and it is always an option for him, and for us, for him to come back.”
"He has the spirit that you need. He loves Liverpool so it is always an option for him to come back."
