Cocu tells Van Bommel to choose Barcelona

Spurs target Mark Van Bommel has been told by Philip Cocu that he should join Barcelona and believes he would be a very big hit at the Camp Nou. "It has been rumoured that he is close to signing a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona," Cocu stated speaking on his personal website.

"Having spent many enjoyable seasons there, I know Mark will be very happy at Camp Nou, if that is where he goes."

"He is a very good player, a great talent. He is physically very strong, he scores goal, he can defend, he is an all-round player who could make a difference to any team," he continued.

"I am surprised he is still here and that he has not gone sooner, although obviously I am happy he is still playing for PSV. I did think a team would have come in for him before now.

"I do not know where he is going, but I am confident that he is a winner with a good mentality and I am sure he will be a success wherever he goes."
