French boss for Portsmouth

Portsmouth could be about to turn to French coach Alain Perrin in their search for a new manager, with ex Spurs boss David Pleat acting as a consultant. The former Marseille boss will be offered a two-year contract by Portsmouth, who have struggled since losing their manager to rivals Southampton.

Whoever does eventually get the job will have their work cut out and whatever changes they do make they will still have to operate under the watchful eye of Velimir Zajec, who is to remain in overall charge, answerable only to owner Milan Mandaric.
