Doping row comes to AC Milan

In what seems like an endless sequence of varying charges involving drugs in Italian football has once again flared up, this time at AC Milan. Two players, Gennaro Gattuso and Giuseppe Pancaro, refused to give a blood test after the win against Roma. After being randomly selected they refused to give a blood sample, but did agree to have the compulsory urine sample. To be fair to them, the blood sample is up to the players discretion, but a failure to give one is frowned upon by The Italian Football Federation and will mean that their urine drug test will be even more stringent.

No statement has been issued on why the players refused the test has been released at this time.

Italian football has been rocked with doping stories over the last decade after players such as Jaap Stam and Edgar Davids tested positive for nandrolone and of course Juventus doctor Ricardo Agricola was found guilty of administering illegal substances to players.
