Spurs target off to Barcelona?

According to the Spanish press, Spurs target Marc Van Bommel will sign for Barcelona this summer. He was widely expected to join Spurs after comments by himself and Spurs sporting director Frank Arnesen, but now appears to have had a change of heart and decided that he would prefer to try his luck in Barcelona instead.

A Dutch football show called Studio Voetbal, claimed initially that the deal that will take Van Bommel to Barcelona is just about complete and will be announced, within the next few weeks.

At first the Spanish press were reluctant to run with the story, outside of the Catalan press anyway. But now they feel more confident that the deal will in fact go through and Spurs have lost out.
