Sources in Spain claim that Newcastle United are about to table a fresh offer for Deportivo La Coruna’s Walter Pandiani, they have seen one bid for the player fail. But an argument between Pandiani and his manager Javier Irureta, have encouraged them to try again.
They had seen an initial bid of 3 million fail, but now the player is thought to be available for around that amount, as Newcastle continue their search to replace the soon to be departing Shearer.
In fact they were hoping to make it a double swoop with a bid for Jorge Andrade, but this looks doomed to failure, at least until the summer anyway with Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro insisting that Andrade will not be allowed to leave this season.
