Arsenal plan to bury hatchet with Marseille

Arsenal are planning a meeting with Marseille in the hope of ending the long running dispute between the two clubs over the signing of Mathieu Flamini. Marseille have long felt wronged over the move and have taken Arsenal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Arsenal although they admit no wrong-doing are keen to put the incident behind them and will have talks to end the matter.

And Marseille may be ready to listen as general manager Pape Diouf stated:

"An agreement would save us a lot of costs."

"But if we abandon our proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport we would not be supporting French clubs who educate players."

"David Dein told me it would be a shame not to find a solution."

"Nothing is going to stop the meeting anyway, perhaps it will be next week."
