Palermo to make move for Newcastle Midfielder

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has hinted that he is about to make a move for unsettled Newcastle United midfielder Hugo Viana. Other recent targets have been Udinese goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis and Boca Juniors fullback Nicolas Burdisso. Zamparini confirmed in a press conference that he is looking for new talent and is aware of Viana's situation at Newcastle saying 'yes we are interested in young players of talent, and I believe Viana to be such a player, you do not suddenly become a bad player.'

When asked about his inability to secure regular football at Newcastle Zamparini countered with 'prehaps the game in England does not sit well with certain players.'
