Roma and Totti just what the hell is going on?

Francesco Totti, hero of AS Roma, local boy talismatic captain and general all round local hero seams at least as far as I can see to be actively seeking a Move away from Roma. First came the coments that he 'dreams of Madrid'. Then actually suggesting his replacements? He claims that he could not move elsewhere in Italy out of the love he holds for the Roma fans and the loyalty he feels towards them. This from a player who has been actively seeking a transfer to spain for some time now.

Now comes his suggestions of players to replace him Christian Vieri, Edgar Davids, Philippe Mexes and Marek Jankulovski, all good players don't get me wrong, but this is not the end of a of a hero through injury or age, its the betrayal of one.

Totti is a uperb player, but as a diplomat he is sadly lacking. Roma fans aren't stupid, if he had to be sold to ease debts, I am sure they would not be happy, but they would accept the sacrifice, but for him to be actively courting it, I am sure they will see it an entirely different way.

Prehaps its natural to want to play in Madrid, a team who's President always appears to have never quite managed to get the right idea about fantasy football and thought he had to go and collect the actual players.

Prehaps even Roma would welcome the money, but he should stop looking like he is desperate to find his way out, he owes his fans more than that.

He claims he wants to stay at Roma and that he only wants whats best for the club, and for that the club needs to buy. Maybe he is right, and maybe just maybe the club needs its captain, its best player and its hero to get behind it in its time of need.
