After admiting that this could very well be his last seasonin Italian football, Arsenal have merged as favourites to caputure Juventus's unsettled defender Lilian Thuram. Talks with Juventus have now collapsed and Juventus are resigned to losing the player.
In fact they are going as far as to invite offers for the French international and although Real Madrid and Chelsea are thought to be interested the only serious offer has been from Arsenal making them the favourites for his signature.
The main problem now seams to be the difference in the vaulations between the two clubs with Juventus wanting 7 Million for the player and Arsenal only willing to offer 5 Million.
