Eufa cup: Roma 'We didn't want to play last night'

Fabio Capello, admited after the game last night, that Roma had wanted a postponement of the eufa cup game against Villarreal in light of the terroist attacks in Madrid yesterday morning. Roma were ready to call the game off, and although the Liga clubs did ask EUFA to call the matches concerning the Spanish sides off, the governing bodies insisted that they go ahead.

"We really didn’t want to play after the events in the capital," said Capello "but UEFA wanted us to".

"We have to accept the decisions of those who are in charge but it was obvious that the atmosphere wasn’t the best."

Roma really didn't play well and were deservedly beaten, Capello could have laid himself open to critcsim after resting many of his top stars.

They will now need to win by 3 clear goals in the return leg, which makes the spaniards the favourites to go through to the quater finals.
