In demand Bale rejects Spurs move

Southampton and Wales left back Gareth Bale has rejected the chance to join Tottenham Hotspur in a multi million transfer. The 17-year old will stay at the South coast for at least another five months. Southampton accepted a £10 million bid for Bale last week and it was widely expected that he would join Spurs during the January transfer window.

Bale, who has 18 months left on his current contract, attracted interest from a host of big clubs with eye catching performances for both club and country. Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal are all known admirers of the teenager.
