Leeds United Get New Chaimran!

New Leeds United chairman Gerald Krasner today made these comments on the future of the Yorkshire Club, ensuring us that the club would not be stuck in the position they are in forever.

He said: "What I can say is this club was on the brink of insolvency and the administrator's job would have been to secure the best price and that may have meant Leeds United looking for a new home.

"But on Friday we went from insolvency to solvency and for as long as I remain as chairman, Elland Road will be the home of  Leeds United football club.

"There will be no supermarket going up here and football will continue to be played here.

"There is a sale and lease back option, which I am not keen on, but if that was the case the lease would be so long that  there would no worry over not playing football here.

"We are looking at other options, but we could not be given a final guarantee until we knew the position we were in.

"There will be no need to meet with the council because there are no plans to do anything at Elland Road other than to play  football."

After speculation that the club will soon be forced to sell their training grounds and youth team, something which I feel would put the club in an even worse position.

"The academy will stay open,  it is the future of Leeds United  - without the youth we have no team for tomorrow."

The club have now been saved from going out of existence and the club will now be able to move on and hopefully put a run together which will see the Premiership side remain a Premiership side.

"The club now owes a normal amount that any sort of Premiership club should owe," he said.

"If you search the next accounts you will see just how solvent the club is."
