Formation Switch Was A Success - Brass

Chris Brass decided to try out the new fomation after signing striker Richard Offiong on a one month loan from Newcastle.

Offiong was seen as ideal for the new formation, as he fitted in well alongside player/assistant manager Lee Nogan and recent signing Andy Bell.

The Minstermen decided to give the new formation a try as they continue to slide towards the foot of Divsion 3.

Yesterdays draw leaves the Minstermen in 16th place in the table - at one point, the club was challenging for the play-offs!

Brass said: "It's something I've wanted to try all season - it's just getting the personnel in. Now we've got Richard he gives us a bit of pace, as does Andy Bell."

Torquay manager Leroy Rosenior also praised York's tactics after they stopped his side winning their fifth straight game game by holding them to a 0-0 draw.

Rosenior said: "It was a real battle - we had to scrap and there wasn't a lot of quality in the game.

"York worked hard - they've had some bad results and you could see how resilient they were.

"But I felt that we had the extra edge, created the chances and maybe should have nicked it 1-0."
