Hull Want Mick Boulding

Last week the Mariners turned down a bid from Barnsley but they are refusing to give up and would like Boulding in place for tomorrow's clash with Blackpool.

Ambitious Hull City are also understood to be on the verge of making a bid, but Grimsby Town chairman Peter Furneaux has said that they will not be making a weekend approach.

"He's said he doesn't want to go and we certainly don't want him to leave," he said.

"That's how it stands. Nothing has changed over the weekend and he's training as normal."

Derby County boss George Burley is looking for a new striker follwoing Lee Morris' departure to Sheffield United last week. County's new owners have pledged to back George Burley in the transfer market despite the club's £30-million debt.

Derby have signed six players in recent weeks.

Boulding can leave Blundell Park if a bid of more than £45,000 is received, according to his contract clause.

He is out of contract in the summer but will want to step up a division if he does leave the club.
