Sean Gregan's trasnfer to West Brom will finally go through on Monday after the player passed a medical. The transfer saga of the summer has been on-going since the end of last season and only 7 days before the start of the new season is there light at the end of the tunnel.

The former Darlington man is rated as one of the best midfielders outside the top flight, a fact Preston and West Brom are aware off. The first hurdle was that West Brom were bidding too low. After several rejected bids no more was heard until The Baggies returned, this time the fee was accpeted but Gregan rejected personal terms. Gregan has now agreed a 4-year-deal and passed his medical.

The move will go through on Monday according to West Brom managin director Brandon Batson who was speaking to the Baggies official site. "After several weeks of negotiations with Preston and the player's agent, Sean will become an Albion player on Monday.

"He will be registered too late to play at Port Vale (on Sunday) but will spend the next two weeks getting ready for the big kick-off.

"We're very pleased to have him and I know for a fact he's looking forward to the challenge with Albion."This was backed up by Preston's chief executive Tony Scholes. "Sean has gone to The Hawthorns this weekend and we believe he has agreed personal terms.

"As long as there are no last minute hiccups, we expect everything to be finalised on Monday."
