Preston North End have slammed the £1million pound offer from West Brom for skipper Sean Gregan as a 'joke'. West Brom boss Gary Megson has long time been a fan of the classy midfielder and it was no suprise that he made a move to bolster his team as they prepare for life in the Premier League. What was a suprise was the size of the offer.
Preston are clearly upset at the offer and club chairman Derek Shaw told the clubs official site just what he thought. "This is not on. For about eight weeks West Brom have conducted business through the newspapers and to then come in with an offer of £1mi for our club captain is a joke.
"We are seriously thinking of making a £200,000 bid for Scott Dobie - it's on a similar level to their bid for Gregan."
