Wolves boss Dave Jones has been admitted to hospital with a case of pneumonia. It is believed that Jones contracted pneumonia during his family holiday in the Caribbean.

Jones will now spend 3 days in hospital and the rest of the week recovering at home. The Wolves squad have just returned to pre-season training and Jones will be highly upset at losing time with his players before the season starts.

Chief Executive Jex Moxey told the clubs website of the unfortunate situation.

"Obviously the timing of this is unfortunate but it can't be helped.

"The doctors seem to think Dave picked up the illness whilst travelling to or from his holiday in the Caribbean - possibly from an air-conditioning unit.

"The players have reported back as arranged and the other football staff and fitness coaches will take charge.

"The first few days of pre-season training are fitness orientated so there is no cause for concern from a football point of view as Dave should be back soon."

Meanwhile the club have confirmed the signing of defender Ivar Ingimarsson on a free transfer from Brentford.

Like Wolves, Ingimarsson suffered play-off heartbreak last season with Brentford and told the clubs official site that he is determined to put that right.

"Last season Wolves and Brentford suffered disappointment in the closing stages of the season.

"Hopefully I can help put that right.

"People say Wolves should be in the Premier League and everyone seems determined to put that right this year."
