Coventry City look set to sign goal-keeper Raimond Van Der Gouw on a free transfer from Manchester United. The Dutch keeper is coming towards the end of his career and is keen to play first team football, something that Coventry can offer with the expected departure of Magnus Hedman.

Van der Gouw pushed down as 3rd choice keeper last summer following the arrival of Roy Carrol from Wigan Athletic.

Whilst no deal is confirmed it is expected that the Dutchman will agree to the terms offered by the Midlands club.

Coventry chairman Mike McGinnity told of the situation to the clubs official website.

"Raimond has been made an offer and he has gone away to think about it.

"The talks went well and we are hopeful that he will sign."
