Wolves have revealed their interest in Manchester United legend, Dennis Irwin after the full back was released from the Old Trafford club. Wolves chief executive, Jex Moxey revealed that the club were interested in the veteren who won almost every domestic honour during his time with the Red Devils.

It has all been brought about by the fact that we need a right back and Denis Irwin is soon going to be out of contract at Old Trafford.

"I cannot say that we have not discussed Denis Irwin, because we have, but only in the same way that we have discussed a lot of players since the end of the season.

"In any case, nothing is going to happen for weeks yet. I will be amazed if any player moves before June 30 when their contracts run out."

Irwin can play as either sided full back and played more on the left side for United but with the departure of Kevin Muscat to Glasgow Rangers, Irwin will most likley take the right hand side.
