Portmsouth have been dealt a major blow with the news that plans for a new 30,000 all seater stadium has been rejected. Portmsouth had been hoping to move to the new stadium on the city outskirts as soon as possible as part of owner, Milan Mandaric's vision for the future.

Pompy have been at Fratton Park since 1898 and Mandaric sees a new stadium essential for Pompy to progress. The news will come as a bitter pill for Portsmouth fans, especially as bitter rivals, Southampton moved into their new stadium, St Mary's, less than 1 months ago.
