Round up focusing on todays frantic managemnt situation. Stoke sack Thordarson, Dons targer Hollins, Lee signs new deal at Walsall. In a fractic day of action 1 manager was sacked, another was linked and another signed a new deal with his current club....Phew, who said pre-season was meant to be slow?

Just days after winning the play-offs with his Stoke team, Gudjon Thordarson has been sacked. The Icelandic was known to have a 'strained' relationship with his board and admitted that he did not know where his future lied straight after the play-off win over Brentford.

The club released an official statmement thanking Thordarson for his hard work and blamed "untenable" relationship between the the board and Thordarson.

Wimbledon look set to appoint John Hollins as their new manager. Hollins was sacked as manager of Rochdale earlier in the week, despite taking them to the Division 3 play off semi-finals. Hollins was offered a new deal by the club, which was later withdrawn and Hollins dismissed. Hollins excellent work at Spotland did not go un-noticed though

The Dons parted company with previous manager, Terry Burton, despite the fans admiration for him. Wimbledon fans even pleasded with Dons legend, Lawrie Sanchez, NOT to apply for the job as they felt his reputation could be tarnished due to association with the much hated Charles Koppel.

Colin Lee has been rewarded for keeping Walsall in Division 1 with a 2 year contract.
