The Football League has launched legal action against Carlton and Granada, the owners of ITV Digital, after they failed to honour their remaining £178 million due for TV rights. The action is no suprise as The Football Leauge have been planning to take Carlton and Granada to court for a while now.
"An application has been made for an early hearing date, due to the severe financial crisis facing the League and its clubs," the League said.
The League are also perparing a seperate damages claim of £500 million against the ITV network as a whole.
