Davies is well out of favour at St Mary's and as already been on loan to a first division club , that being Millwall last season.

The one time £7 million man is not having a happy time back at the club who sold him for that figure to Blackburn a few years back , and he is desperate to kick start his fading career again.

Davies said "I`ve spoken to Gordon Strachan again this week and he`s promised to keep me informed."

Wednesday might wait till the end of the season as the forward is out of contract , or they could go in for a loan deal which appeals to Steel City rivals Utd as well.
