Whelan fly's to Palace

Premier League giants Middlesbrough have allowed striker Noel Whelan join Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season. The Eagles face Bradford City tomorrow at the Bradford & Bingley Stadium and hope that he will be able to make his debut.

The former Leeds United and Coventry City striker was signed by Bryan Robson for a cool £2,000,000 but has struggled to make the team this season.

His move means that he will join up with former team mate Curtis Fleming, who is now captain of the Selhurst Park side.
